The Muslim community is the largest, and among the fastest growing, minority groups in Australia. Yet our collective voting power remains largely untapped. It’s time to change that.
STRONGER TOGETHER
The Greens’ Commitment to the Muslim Community
We put these priorities to ALL political parties. Here’s how The Greens responded.
Justice for Palestine - Adopt the Red Lines legislation and commit to full recognition of Palestine within 6 months.
Combating Islamophobia - Pass a Religious Discrimination Act, include religion in anti-vilification laws, and fully fund a National Islamaphobia Strategy.
Religious Freedom in Education - Protect faith-based hiring rights and school ethos, while upholding anti-discrimination laws.
Reforming National Security Laws - Audit counter-terrorism laws and CVE programs, and increase oversight of security agencies.
Humane Refugee Policies - End offshore and indefinite detention, increase intake from crisis zones, and align with international law.
Adam Bandt
Leader of the Australian Greens
“We support the immediate recognition of Palestine, and a lasting resolution to the profound injustice of the State of Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine in ways that will allow Palestinians and Israelis to live in peace, security and equality.”
