Filling in your ballot papers

You get two ballot papers

One for your local district in the Legislative Assembly, and one for your region in the Legislative Council.

MVM's how-to-vote card shows you how to number both. Bring it with you, or take a photo of it on your phone — you are allowed to use it inside the voting booth.

Not enrolled, or not sure? Check at vec.vic.gov.au/enrolment before 8 pm on Tuesday 3 November.

Why this matters

88Legislative Assembly seats up for election
40Legislative Council seats up for election

On 28 November, Victorians elect all 88 seats in the Legislative Assembly and all 40 seats in the Legislative Council.

In key Victorian districts, Muslim voters are numerous enough to decide the result.

State Parliament decides how our hospitals and schools are run, how police operate, what gets built in our suburbs, and what protection we have from vilification. These are the decisions that touch our families every week.

This means we have the power to

  • Elect representatives who align with our values.
  • Hold those who ignore us accountable at the ballot box.

How-to-vote cards

A card for every seat in Victoria

MVM is issuing a how-to-vote card for every Legislative Assembly district in Victoria — not just a handful of target seats. Wherever you live, there will be a card for you.

  • 01

    Researched

We research each candidate's record and stated positions.

  • 02

    Independent

We take no money or direction from any party.

  • 03

    Transparent

We publish the reasoning behind our recommendations.

Can you help us get the word out?

The Victorian State Election is coming, and MVM is taking our election campaign directly into the community. We need volunteers who can help distribute MVM election flyers across Victoria.

This is a practical way to help make sure Muslim voters know where to find MVM's election information and voting resources.

Votes with purpose

This tool helped me vote with purpose. Our votes should never be taken for granted again.
Thank you MVM for the guidance, it's never been clear which candidate or party I can trust on election day.
For the first time, I felt like my vote actually mattered.
